A bright crisp Sunday morning so who better for the Vets to visit than Wickham Park. We arrived to find the away dressing room awash with mud from the game the day before. Our new Director of Football back at Farnborough would have been raging into his boots.

Once we''d swept the floor, changed and been told the line up by our illustrious manager we filed out into the sun and waited a full 25 minutes for the Wickham team. This could have been a tactic to put us off or tire us which had neither effect as we all stood around discussing how much it would cost for an Albanian taxi driver to take you from Charing Cross to Sevenoaks.

Once that had been agreed we kicked off playing downhill with the sun behind us. Wickham had all of the first 20 minutes pressurising Steve Blanchard into one of the hardest slices over his own bar I have ever seen. They took a 3 nil lead which was pegged back by half time by the Vets team clawing their way back and matching a good Wickham team pass for pass. Colin Ebdon popped up scoring with a neat shot from the edge of their area, 3-1 at half time.

The second half saw us create four good chances one of which fell to Chief Bourlet who nutmegged their fullback and with the outside boot (accidentally) put it over their keeper into the net 3-2. Game on and they knew it prompting them to step up the pace and flood the left hand side sending in cross after cross. We conceded another two disappointing sloppy goals amidst the shout of
"Keeper''s" each time as to where this shout was coming from we still do not know... Although a loss again it was still a good performance and a tad improved on last year''s 10 nil thrashing which was followed up with Mark''s gaffe (I nicked a £70 ball from The Warren) in the bar.
