1 - 3
Baltic Exchange Vets

By Roger French

With the 2 minutes silence duly observed we did our usual trick of failing to get out of neutral and promptly invited Baltic to take an early lead following a collision between goalkeeper and defender leaving the Baltic striker the fairly straightforward task of slotting the ball into the unguarded net, although Steve Blanchard did make a valiant attempt to head the ball off the line but couldn''t quite manage it. Luckily we found the gear stick after this and managed to get things rolling.

The team was shuffled somewhat with Steve Tanner returning in goal allowing Toby Manchip to roam free in attack along with Paul Storkey. We reverted to a flat back four and we looked much more comfortable in this formation. The first half was very evenly balanced with Baltic going in 1-0 up at half-time.

The second half saw Baltic extend their lead early on but we did manage to press forward more and pulled one back through Paul Smith. We had our fair share of attacks and played some good passing moves. Unfortunately for us Baltic scored again but credit to the Vets we didn''t cave in and continued to attack. Steve Tanner was forced to go off following a hefty collision with one of their players with Colin Ebdon switching to keeper for the last 15 minutes. We are looking much more like a team these days and are at least giving teams a good run for their money.

A word to Vic - can you find some shorts for Richard that don''t make him look like an Erasure groupie!
