Fourths go marching on!

The Farnborough 4ths' unbeaten streak continues with a comprehensive win against a much improved Legions team. Playing on quite a small narrow pitch in Bellingham the 4ths started strongly but struggled to pass the ball on a bobbly pitch. However when we did manage to pass the ball Rob Osborne scored another headed goal following a cross from the left from Harry Tanner. We then let Legions back into the game as they tapped the ball into the net from what was a decidedly offside looking position! This seemed to galvanise the 4ths and Rob Osborne scored his second shooting low into the corner.

One of the big differences with the 4ths this season is the strength and depth of the squad. I had 19 players to select from today with players returning from university being available. So with 5 subs I brought fresh legs on and what a difference it made. Harry Tanner very quickly made it 3-1 slotting the ball calmly past the Legions keeper for his first goal from open play this season. Graeme Barnes then made it 4-1 shooting strongly past the keeper following a lovely move down the left hand side between Harry and Lloyd Mitchell which Lloyd crossed into the box for Graeme to score his 10th of the season. Graeme then made it 5-1 with yet another headed goal from a corner.

With a top of the table clash waiting for the 4ths on the 27th December all of the 4th team squad can enjoy their Christmas knowing that they have gone 14 games unbeaten! Is that an FOBG record???
